Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Reckless driving

I was driving on 495 towards dulles airport and stoped by a state police and given a ticket for a reckless driving.Acording to the ticket, i was doing 85 on 55. I was speeding to get to work on time, but I was doing 85MPh. I have had few trafic tickets in the past, but none for speeding.I had two tickets: one for improper lane change and one for broken tail light. Now, does this in anway work against me?

Also, I have one prior misdeamonr conviction for the violation of the state open alchol container law. This happend for years ago,and I paid a fine of $10. since then I haven't had any problem, except this offense and two trafic tickets.I am very worried that this makes me look bad,and I might end up having my license suspended or even worse. Is there anyway I can be charged with a lesser offense?

thanks in advance.

Re: Reckless driving

Reckless driving in the Commonwealth is classified as a Class 1 misdemeanor, a jailable offense. Therefore, you should have an attorney to represent you in order to secure the best possible disposition of this matter(from your perspective, of course.)

If you cannot afford to hire such on your own, then you should request that the court appoint a

competent defense counsel to represent you in this matter.
