Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Reckless driving-90/65 mph zone
I was stopped after doing 90 in a 65 zone, the ticket says I was paced. Does that mean radar was or wasn't used? I was told that cops can't pace you with the cars anymore. I have also read that Police are not aloud to speed unless there on a CODE 1 CALL. If this is true and the cop paced me with his car and not radar that would mean he was breaking their own regulations. And the last thing,(the night was clear and only one or two cars were out if this makes a difference).
There's a lot of If's in this but if any are true, what's my next course of action and what are my chances of getting this dropped

Re: Reckless driving-90/65 mph zone
Your chances of getting the reckless driving charge dropped are zero. An attorney might be able to negotiate a disposition with the prosecutor that would involve your pleading guilty to something less serious than reckless driving, which in Virginia is a jailable offense.
