Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Reckless Driving
This was after a snow and ice storm. The next day after they cleaned the street. My sister's car slid on ice when coming to a stop and hit the bumper part of another car. Unfortunately there was no witness but the cop on arrival also stated she slide on ice but when he gave her the ticket he put 'reckless driving' on it. The car wasn't impounding and she wasn't given in breathe test. What can she do? This is about sister for real.

Re: Reckless Driving
Sounds like a "garbage charge", assuming that your sister was exercising reasonable care in driving
her vehicle under the circumstances, and, therefore, if the relevant facts bear this out, your sister needs to vigorously contest what appears to be an unfair and unwarranted charge.(Reckless driving is no mere traffic infraction in the Commonwealth but rather a Class 1 misdemeanor and therefore jailable offense.)
And, yes, she'll need an attorney in order to do it, effectively.
