Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Reckless Driving, however

Okay, this sounded a little shady to me, but I thought I would just pose the question. I recently recieved a ticket for reckless driving in Lynchburg, Va. The cop pulled me over, cuffed me and ran my records. Then when he was done with the records he uncuffed and let me go but not before saying, You seem like an okay kid, I'm going to cut you a huge deal and let you off with reckless driving. He stated that I could hire a lawyer and fight it, but if I did so he would bring up other charges (cutting through bank parking lot, evasion of a police officer, etc...) which he claims to have evidence of on tape. I plan on pleading guilty and with a Clean driving record hope to just get a fine and possibly a license suspension (at the most), what should I do, he's got me really spooked about hiring an attorney for this.

Better get an attorney. Pleading guilty even to reckless driving could have numerous adverse consequences for you for years to come.

Furthermore, the manner in which this matter was handled by the ticketing officer raises red flags

and may provide a basis for a viable defense to this charge.
