Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

reckless driving by speed

Can I enter a prayer for judgement as I have not had a speeding violation in 10 years? Also the copy of my ticket states I was on I 87, but in fact was stopped on I 81. Can I enter an innocent plea based on the fact that the interstate number was incorrectly printed?

Re: reckless driving by speed

Virginia traffic law does not recognize the N. Carolinian plea/remedy known as a Prayer for Judgment. Furthermore, your not guilty plea will require more than a mere typo or misreferencing on the ticket as to where exactly you were stopped by the officer. If the officer is there at court on the day scheduled for your hearing, he or she will have that information available to be admitted into evidence, if the case were to go to trial.
