Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Hi. I got a reckless driving ticket last February in Virginia. The judge lessened it to equipment malfunction as long as I take the Defensive Driving Class. My next hearing is in 2 days. I called the court today and the lady said that I don't have to come to court. However, I am unsure if I'm not really required to come or would that mean a "no show" if I don't come to the hearing? Please help.

You should be able to rely on what the clerk has told you as long as you've
properly completed this defensive driving course and submitted proof of it to the
clerk's office. Nevertheless, you might wish to double check on this issue again with the clerk's office and get the name of this clerk who advises you on the matter (if you haven't already done so).
