Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

I am a former resident of Virginia where I had to have sr22 insurance for not having insurance and getting my license suspended about 10 years ago. I was young and stupid and moved to another state and did not carry my sr22 insurance over and let it lapse. My husband and I are thinking about moving back to Virginia, and I wanted to know whats going to happen when I go to get my license?

There are no other violations besides this one on my record, and and there were no penalties imposed in court.

So, go the Virginia DMV (making sure that the vehicle which you are driving

is properly insured) and then answer truthfully all questions which you are asked on the application for a driver's license and see what happens. (If you are

already licensed in some other state with a reasonably good driving record,

over the past 10 years, you may possibly be relicensed in the Commonwealth

without a problem.)
