Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
School zone
If you are passing a school zone and the flashing school zone speed limit lights are on (25mhp), if school is out, do you have to obey the flashing lights? I went thru a school zone at the normal speed limit and was ticketed. School had been out for over 2 hours when I was ticketed.

Re: School zone
School may have been out, but there could still have been after hour school functions going on
involving the children, and to help assure their safety the flashing lights were still flashing
when you went by.
