Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
Is speeding 55/35 (46.2-875) a 6 or 4 point offense in VA? Should I go to court and speak to the DA about pleading guilty to a lesser charge? I truly was on the way out of state because my 29 yo daughter had just been admitted to the intensive care unit of the hopital for a life threatening medical issue. She ended up have bi-lateral pulmonary emboli and was hospitalized for 2 weeks.

Yes, see the prosecutor before court begins and offer to plead to
a reduced speeding infraction.
Make sure that you do not end up pleading to reckless driving(20 or more mph
over the posted limit) and a criminal offense(Class 1 misdemeanor).
