Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Speeding in VA HOV

My husband was recently pulled over for speeding on I-95 HOV, doing 86 in a 65. This is his first ever speeding ticket, he's been driving for 21 years. We are from PA and it says we have to appear in court for this? Is this really true? Any advice for getting the charges dropped to a lesser charge...we just don't know where to turn and what to do seeing as this is our first one.

Re: Speeding in VA HOV

If you arrange to hire an attorney to represent you in the county/city where the violation(presumably reckless driving) occurred, he or she may be able to settle the matter for you without

your husband having to actually appear in court.(The local bar associaqtion should be able to provide you with some names of local traffic attorneys.)
