Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
State registration
If I bought a vehicle for a friend of mine and he disappeared out of the state of virginia and moved to west virginia do I have to pay his property taxes and is there a way to get out of it since I have no clue where he is.

The registered owner of the vehicle is the person who's responsible for the personal property taxes. Your way out of this unwelcome assessment is to have the vehicle sold(assuming, of course, that you can locate the title).
