Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Traffic law question

I was going 50 mph in a 15 (airport area) The officer told me all about the 1500 dollar fine and losing my license for a year w/ VA law and talked about the judge and what not. I had no previous offenses, and I did not have license on me though I gave him all my information. He then told me to have a good night, but did not hand me anything at all. I don't know if I am getting mailed something (perhaps because he was an airport cop who stopped me on foot and did not have his squad car to give out proper ticket information..?) or if everything he was saying was just to scare. Do you have to receive a court date and all that information when the incident occurs or could I possibly be getting something awful in the mail sometime soon?

Re: Traffic law question

No, the "something awful" in the form of a ticket or summons would be handed to you by the officer on the spot.
