Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Traffic Ticket

A Fairfax City Police officer crossed lines into the Fairfax County jurisdiction to issue me a traffic ticket, saying that I was speeding about 0.8 mile back, which is in the City's jurisdiction.

There was something fishy as there was ample time and at least 3 traffic lights through which the officer didn't follow me, but after 0.8 miles suddenly came behind me with the light flashing.

Then in the ticket, he left the arrest location blank, purposefully, I think.

I understand that the City police may have concurrent jurisdiction in the county portion to pull over in cases like this. But do I have a legal case to fight the ticket based on the delays, sufficient time within jurisdiction and the blank arrest location etc.?

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Traffic Ticket

You have the right to cross examine the officer to determine what the reasons were, however, they can amend the summons to correct the blank area and the delay is not really an issue.
