Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia
New Virginia civil penalties
After looking at the new Virginia Civil penalties for reckless driving and what not, they all said they only apply to Virginia Residents. I'm an Ohio resident, in the military, stationed here in Virginia, Do the new civil penalties effect me?

Re: New Virginia civil penalties
Unless the statute includes a specific exemption for military personnel who are temporarily resident in the Commonwealth by virtue of their duty stations, the new civil fines, which are applicable to all traffic offenses defined as crimes such as reckless driving, DUI, and driving while suspended, would appear to apply to all of these folks such as yourself.
