Re: wreckless driving

You probably decided that this was something you

could handle on your own with out the benefit of competent defense counsel, and have thusly(and very likely not justly) reaped the predictable result.

You have 10 days from the date of your conviction to note your appeal from the general

district court decision, and I strongly suggest that you do so, immediately,(assuming that there's still time.) And then hire an attorney to represent you in this criminal matter who knows the applicable traffic law and procedure in the jurisdiction where you you were charged.

(If you cannot afford to hire one, ask the court to appoint counsel for you.)

However, unfortunately, if your time to appeal has expired, then you're basically stuck with an unexpungable criminal conviction(Class 1 misdemeanor)for the rest of your years on planet

Earth.

Re: wreckless driving

You have 10 days to file a Notice of Appeal.

You will then get a completely new trial in

circuit court, like the first one never

happened. Your best chance is to ask for a jury.

However, if you do not ahve any argument to cast

doubt upon the prosecution's case, this might not

improve your situation.

If you otherwise have a good driving record,

you can talk to the prosecutor (after filing the

appeal) about pleading guilty to a speeding

ticket only or to "improper driving" which is less.
