Re: wreckless driving

First, where are you in the State? You should probably get an attorney. Because there is the potential for jail time, you might qualify for a court-appointed attorney if your salary and wealth is low enough. You should also call the Court and ask for "legal services" which is a government-supported law firm that may be free for you. When you go on that day, you should go early and try to talk to the prosecutor and ask what deal he or she might offer you. It will probably be a fine (like $600) and some number of days "suspended." That means, ther eis NO penalty beyond the dollars if you do nothing wrong for 12 months. But if you have another violation in 12 months, then you would have to serve that time in jail. Also, it is important what your driving record is. It will help if you have a good driving record. Of course, with an attorney you should try to get a not guilty result.
