Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Wreckless- general , and driving without a license

I was pealing out in one of my friends cars in our neighborhood one night in roanoke ,va. . when an undercver cop saw me and waited till i left where i was to pull me over. my friend (owner of the car) had gotten out and into another car and told me to meet them up the street. once we left, a few blocks up the undercover cop pulled me over. since it wasnt my car and i didnt have a license i got a ticket for wreckless driving- general, and driving without a license. I am now legal to drive but at the time, a week ago i wasnt. this is my first infraction with the law. i was wondering what possible penalties i am looking to face.

Both of these charges carry the possibility of jail time. The reckless driving charge is a class one misdemeanor with the following provisions:

- up to one year in jail

-up to $2500 in fines and/or

-up to 6 months suspension of your right to drive

Out of the 2 charges, your focus should be on fighting the reckless charge.
