Legal Question in Traffic Law in Virginia

Yesterday around 7pm, I was at a dance studio. I got in my vehicle and drove to the grocery store that is in the same shopping center with the dance studio. As I was preparing to get out of my vehicle, I was approached by a woman indicating that someone told her that my vehicle's door, hit her vehicle's door and caused a dent. I had advised her that I did not hit her vehicle and that she would need to call police to handle the situation. She left the scene and later returned. I asked her if she called police but she was so upset, she left the scene again. I stuck around for police to show up for another 20 minutes and they did not so I left. Today on 4/25/17, I got a call from police indicating the other person contacted them with my vehicle license plate number and wanted to fill out an accident information exchange form. I did not feel comfortable providing that information over the phone and advised the officer that I was not involved in the accident.

My question is, legally, am I required to give any information to the police or the other driver for an incident I was not involved in?
