1984 Intestate laws
How can I find out what the laws were in 1984 pertaining to dying intestate in the state of Virginia. How was his property and personal property to be divided?

It's highly probable that the state's scheme for the distribution of the property of an intestate estate was virtually the same in 1984 as it is today. See Title 64.1 of the Virginia Code.
