Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

I have been asked to sign a Renunciation letter by my ex, for our daughters estate. She is suing for wrongful death. I want the half that would go to me to go to my remaining daughter. if I sign this, will that take away my half - or my ability to give my half to my daughter?

Without seeing the proposed renunciation letter, I believe it might cut out your possibility of recovery, hence your ability to award your half to your remaining daughter.
