Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Under what conditions can a Will be contested?

A Fraternal family member does not wish to leave one of her children anything, do to years of verbal abuse and bad treatment. That very same child claims she will "Contest" the will simply due to the fact that she is one of the children and is entitled to something. Can this be done?

Thank you,

CP

In order to minimize the chances of this will contest occurring as described, this family member would be well advised in her will to bequeath to this particular

child the princely sum of $5.00, making clear in the language of

the will itself that this is all that this child is to receive as her inheritance and nothing more.
