Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
death benefits
Is there a standard time limit for death benefits to be paid? If so, how long is it? I am a beneficiary and have submitted all required forms and wondering how long of a time limit I should allow before I start inquiry as to receiving benefits.

Re: death benefits
Assuming that your referring to death benefits payable by a life insurance carrier, I'd estimate that about 90 days after the submission of your claim paperwork would be a reasonable time frame.

Correction (and amendment)to previous answer:
I meant to use the gramatically correct form you're rather than the incorrect "your", and to add, no, I know of no standard or legally codified time frame for the payment of such benefits.
