Distribution of assets - one child only

I wish to disinherit my daughter and name my stepson as my sole hier. Is any special language requred to make this a certainty

Your will would direct that your assets go to whomever you direct. It might say that it is your intent to exclude. Retaining an attorney might offer further evidence that your intent was to not provide for your daughter

The only language required in your will are the terms necessary that will convey the meaning that you intend to convey, i.e., that your daughter is not to inherit any part of your assets, whether personal or real property, and that your stepson is to inherit all such assets.

You would be well advised to retain the services of a properly qualified attorney to draft your will to ensure that it includes the kind of language suggested above in order to insure that your intention(s)are in fact carried out.
