Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

divorce/settlement agreements/death

My deceased husband and I had joint checking and savings accounts that were not detailed out in a settlement agreement when we separated. We had not yet divorced when he died. Are all joint accounts my accounts now?

Re: divorce/settlement agreements/death

If the accounts were jointly held with right of survivorship by you with your now deceased husband, you should now be the owner of the accounts, without further ado. (Refer to the account agreements which should spell this out.)
