Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Estate Executorship

I want to gain Executorship of Daddy's estate. How would I go about doing this without paying an attorney? Can this be done by a notary if both parties agree.

Re: Estate Executorship

You apply to the probate court having jurisdiction over "Daddy's estate" to be substituted for the executor who's currently recognized as the executor.(The current executor could sumbit an affidavit to the court indicating his or her willingness to have you appointed as executor in his/her place.)
