My daughter is currently in jail and owes fines and also is behind in child support.She is due out in Dec 08..her mother died and left her a settlement.Can either the courts or child support touch this money without her permission..thanks--

Once the bequest is deposited into your daughter's personal bank account with her other funds, it should be as attachable for back child support as any of her other monetary assets. (As to court fines, the state has other methods/means of collecting these without resort to seizing a debtor's bank account or garnishing wages.)
