Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

As an executor of an estate in North Carolina that has been distributed to the recipents but is having some minor issues. Suppose I resign ad executor and don't finish the process. What is my libility as executor if accounts is OK but a few minor final papers have not been completed?

Your riight to resign as executor would have to be approved/granted by the appropriate probate court in N. Carolina. (And that might not occur if there are only a few minor things regarding the estate that remain to be done.)

Nevertheless, if it were to be granted by the court, you would have no further responsibility for the matter from that time forth.
