Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
My father died on july 29,2008 of cancer in virginia. My stepmother and my father had the will written up while he was in the hospital a couple of weeks before he died. She will not let us (my brothers and I) see the will. I didn't know until recently that we could contest the will. Is it too late?

Persons with a legal interest in the probate of a decedent's estate,
generally appear to have six months from the date of the probate clerk of court's
order to note an appeal, per Va. Code Sec. 64.1-78.
Once a will is filed with with the probate case, anyone can go to the
courthouse to inspect it as it then becomes a public record.
