Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
My father died and he owned a House in Abbieville LA and my sister and i lives in Virginia and my father was not married and did not have a will. So i am the oldest living next to kin so i was woundering what we had to do so that my sister and i could take controll of the house.

My expertise is only Virginia law, and wills and estates are governed by state law, which for you is Lousiana, but my guess is that you will need to get appointed administrator of his estate in LA and proceed from there.
