Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

My father left no will or executor of his estate. My mother is living in the house, which has a mortgage in my father's name only. I'm trying to get that switch over to my mother's name, but the mortgage company requires a letter of administration, last will of testimony, or authorize letter of person handling the estate. Non of these documents exist. What should do?

Either you or your mother could go the clerk's office of the local

circuit court (probate division) and ask to be appointed administrator of your deceased father's estate which would then empower the one so appointed to perform all of the functions required to get your mother added to this

particular mortgage as the recognized mortgagor.
