My husband is looking to inherit a large sum of money and property i fear he wll take the money and run from our marriage of almost 18 yrs . do i have any legal standing

Normally, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, money or other property inherited by a spouse is not considered marital property and subject to the claim(s) of the other spouse as such whether or not it's inherited before or during the marriage.
