Inheritance waiting period

I just inherited a house,but it will not be officially put in my name till May.I have been given permission to go ahead and sell the house because i live in Colorado and the house is in Virginia.Since i can sell the house would i be able to take out a loan useing the house as colateral.

Sure, if you can find a lender, but if the property is not in your name, you may be looking for quite some time in this depressed market in order to find such a financial entity.
