Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
When it comes to inheritances, can someone other than the person who is the beneficiary make decisions on what to do with the money? All parties involved are WELL over the age of 40 by the way.
My father took $52,000 that was left to each 4 adult grandchildren ( our maternal grandmothers money) and placed it in CDs somewhere( we don't know where) over 10years ago. Now my brother has passed away and my sister is executor of his very large estate, she is very much under the rule of my father. Which means she will do the same with any money left to me and my other sister. do we have any way of not having money hidden without our consent? I live in Virginia, my brother lived in West Virginia.

The answer to your question lies in the documents by which you inherited from your grandmother and your West Virginia brother. Were they wills, or trusts; were the amounts unrestricted and direct?
