Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Inherited property dispute

My father died without will or instructions. 6 of us remain to inherit, 3 want to keep his home 3 want to let it go. All are adults. No one is yet the administrator, waiting for the court to answer. How long do we have to wait if 3 agree to be being bought out? Does first refusal go to the 3 that want the property? What if they don't have the money right away?

Re: Inherited property dispute

Once the property has been formally titled in the names of each of the

designated heirs, any one of them can singly or jointly initiate a partition suit in the local circuit court where the property is located which would likely result in its court-ordered sale and division of the sale proceeds among the owners of record.
