Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

How do I get Judgement cleared

I was the executor of my sister-in-laws estate. A judgement was placed against me for $200,000. and some odd dollars. I had the heirs that were to recieve this sign release forms which were documented and sent to the courthouse handling the case. The lawyer for the heirs has passed away and I was trying to handle this myself. I have all the documentation necessary to remove the judgement, but the Judge has not released it and it still shows on my credit report. I can not afford a lawyer and like I said, I have all the necessary documentation that totals up to the $200,000 and some odd dollars that has been released. What can I do to get the judgement released?

Thank you

Re: How do I get Judgement cleared

Once a judgment is satisfied, i.e., it must be released if the appropriate paper work has been submitted to the clerk's office at the courthouse. You should go there yourself with your assembled paperwork and find out exactly from the clerk what it is that still needs to be filed in order to clear the judgment off the books.
