Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

I was left money in a will. The executor to the will is trying to put the money in a trust fund when the will does not say that is what is to be done with the money, legally can this be done without my consent?

If you are over the age of 18 and the will requires no trust to be established, it is highly doubtful that the executor can put the money in a trust fund.
