Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Hi

I live in Virginia.My wife inherited Life time rights to the home we live in .It is left to my 2 daughters in the will. I have 2 questions.Can the land be sub divided for them to build a home on? If they all agree can they sell the property??

If the residual beneficiaries were to agree to the subdivision or to sell(with the agreement of your wife), there should be no problem unless the will itself provides otherwise with respect to the subdivision(in my opinion).
