Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

I was made power of attorney by my father several years ago. Do I have any legal financial responsibility after he passes other than using his funds to cover debts and obligations?

Once the principal (your father) dies, the powers contained in the PoA die too. You will need to be appointed as the personal representative to continue acting on his behalf.
