Mother's will vs. Brokerage

Mom's will says assets to be divided among all children-brother (exect.)says control of investment account was given to him alone.All assets are in the inv.Account!

Brother says he was called by investment broker and notified of this saying it supercides will!

Is this legal?

Assuming that the investment broker is not also an attorney, one might inquire as to where he acquired his expertise in probate matters of law?

The brother should be asked to show proof of the document which gives to him alone control of the investment account and which supposedly passes outside of probate.

In the meantime, it would seem advisable for the children-beneficiaries to arrange for a consultation with an attorney who has knowledge and experience with wills, trusts, and estates, and probate matters in general.
