Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
If two people, mother and son are joint owners of one house, and mother dies and the eldest sister is name the only benifiicary, after the will has been probated, how soon should the should the name of mother be taken off of the one house and if five years later, a check is mailed in mother's name, who check is it, the benificary or the son who now owns the house.

"Five years later a check is mailed in mother's name"? From whom, from where, for what(the check that was sent), and did son hold title to the home with mother jointly with right of survivorship(or merely as tenant in common) are just a few of the questions which would seem in need of clarification before this question can be answered.
