Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Power of attorney

Can power of attorney be transfered if the person with poa is willing? If so, how difficult is this. This involves a person who had a stroke. The person who was has poa lives out of state.

Re: Power of attorney

The person who has had the stroke will need to withdraw the POA and execute a new instrument designating the new person who is so empowered.

The alternative would likely involve filing a petition with the appropriate court to have a conservator appointed to handle the affairs of the stroke victim.
