power of attorney/executor of estate

mom already passed a month ago, no will or anything how do i go about getting power of attorney or executor of estate?

One does not acquire power of attorney

from dead folks; you can complete and file papers with the probate court requesting to be appointed administrator of your deceased mother's estate. The administrator acts in the same capacity for an estate without a will as an executor would act for an estate in which there is a will.
