Re: power of attorney/executor of estate
One does not acquire power of attorney
from dead folks; you can complete and file papers with the probate court requesting to be appointed administrator of your deceased mother's estate. The administrator acts in the same capacity for an estate without a will as an executor would act for an estate in which there is a will.
