Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
my sister died she had a will her home is to be sold and half given to her heirsand the other half to her church.my oldest sister is the executor and she belongs to the church and she is a heir and mention on the residuary estate also. insurance proceeds came in from my brother in who passed in april and now my sisters insurance proceeds came in.and both of my sister say they get the insurance proceeds because of the residuary estate is in there name.is this true I thought the estate or the heirs get these proceeds since the insurance policys had no beneficuarys,
