son and kids written in will

If a son is listed in a will as my ''son and his kids'' get 50% but the son has never had any kids and does not plan to either, does this pose an issue with probate? can't the estate be closed as is?

Yes, this estate should now be closable without awaiting for the appearance of any such speculative sons whose reality has yet to be made legally manifest.
