Surrender of inheritance

My mother passed away and left her house to my brother, my sister, and me. How do I go about transferring my third to my brother and sister?

Re: Surrender of inheritance

If your mother's death was within the past nine months, you can file a disclaimer of your interest, leaving the two remaining children as joint owners.

Re: Surrender of inheritance

Real estate can pass to beneficiaries in a number of ways - by designation in a will, by the form of ownership (joint with right of survivorship) or by intestate laws, to name some. Your question does not state how she left her house to you and your siblings. There are several ways you can transfer your third to your siblings. The options available to you might include a disclaimer depending how long it has been since she died. For a specific answer to your question, you will need to talk with an attorney about your situation.
