Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
I am being threatened by my ex-wife that if I do not sign a renunciation for the estate of our dead daughter (whom she plans to sue the person who was driving the car), that I will be obliged to pay half of funeral and lawyer fees.. I was not consulted on any arrangements, is this true - can she force me to pay if the "estate" does not cover the cost.

So, on what legal theory could you possibly be responsible for these future expenditures for an attorney by your former wife? (I personally can't think of any.)
And, furthermore, even assuming that funeral expenses have already
been incurred, I do not see how you could be forced to share
in that expense if for whatever reason you didn't want to.
