is a will drawn in ct. legalin va. we lived in ct. when we had will drawn we moved to va. husband passed and now my lawyer in ct who was exextor passed which i did not know about he has oroginal co-py in his safe. what cdan i do now

The Connecticut will is almost certainly valid in Virginia. If you have a copy of the signed will you may be able to go through probate in Virginia if you can convince the probate office that the original was left with the attorney in Connecticut who had died.

If there is anyone who might have information about the deceased attorney's files, that is another option to pursue.

If the existence of the will cannot be established, you can probate his estate as one without a will, by going to the Probate Office of the Circuit Court in the county in which your husband died.

As his wife you are likely to be the sole heir unless he had children who were not your children.
