Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Will ,I was made Executor

The will says in so many words I am the one to who get home ,all furniture ,pot ,pans, can buy, sell, make changes, make arrangements, for any insurance,in other words the lawyer told me I am in charge, and what ever is left with such as money, I am to share, but theres a lien on the home from a reverse mortgage, with amounts that will be needed to be paid back to the mortgage, and the assets are involved, does it mean that I can in fact make any type of decisions I need to do in order to satisfy the mortgage, even if it takes alot of her money in the bank,I also am the power of attorney in this matter

Re: Will ,I was made Executor

The POA now means nothing since its author is now deceased. As to your duties and responsibilities as executor

of the will, given your apparent state of confusion, I would suggest that before undertaking any substantive steps to probate this will, that you seek further advice and counsel from an attorney in your area who is knowledgeable and experienced in probate as well as real property law and reverse mortgage matters.
