Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

Wills and executor

My grandfather died with a will that says everything should be divided equally between his two daughters. One of his daughters (my mother), died before him, so her part would come to her children. We are from Spain, and don`t know about american law.

My question is: My aunt (my grandfather's other daughter) is the executor and after one year has not called us to divide the assets. What should we do? What does the American law say in this case?

Re: Wills and executor

You should ask the executor for a report on what is happening in the estate. If the will is being probated in Virginia, you should have received a notice from the executor that the will has been submitted for probate.
