Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia

I have a situation! My aunt just drew up a will, her niece by marriage drew it up for her(She is an attorney. She named the niece an executor and my mother(aunts sister). Now the nieces' children and husband will benefit from this will. Is this a legal, I did not think a relative could do that? Please help. This situation is in Nassau County in New York long Island

If there has been any ethical violation by the New York attorney of any rules of conduct governing the profession in the situation described, it would involve the rules of the New York State Bar rather than those of the VSB, and, therefore, the question should be answered by a member of the former.
